Seppo was born in Finland, but came to the United States as a child and grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts.  He attended Wheaton College (Illinois) where he received a BS in Chemistry in 1960.  He then went to Harvard Medical School and graduated in 1964 with an MD degree.  He and his wife, Judy, with three children, Andrew, Kristin and Daniel, moved to Cape Cod in 1972, where he was a general and thoracic surgeon at Cape Cod Hospital until 2004.  He was the chairman of the board of Veritas Academy for many years, and is a Trustee Emeritus of Gordon College.  We have been members of Christ Chapel since its founding in 1980.  Currently Seppo is the chairman of the Christ Chapel Board of Elders.
